Each sitting lasts at least 2 hours with plenty of breaks if needed.

As George lives outside London it will be necessary for the sitter to travel to his home in Gloucestershire. A B&B will be arranged so that the sitter can relax over a few days, or come back for another sitting at a later date.

As a rough guide, a portrait usually takes between 6 and 10 sittings.

George will also paint conversation pieces and paint from photographs.

George Weissbort's many portrait commissions include the following:

To decide to have your portrait painted requires a certain degree of courage: what if at the end, you don’t like the portrait? This can be embarrassing for artist and sitter.

To minimize the risk, George often likes to have two versions advancing simultaneously, half the session on one, half on the other. At the end, the sitter may choose which portrait he or she prefers, and both parties are satisfied.
